tagged
Oh, dear. TMcG has tagged me for a meme. Here it goes:
The rules of Buddhablog fight club are as follows...
- Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
- Share 7 random or weird things about yourself.
- Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs
- Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
- I'm afraid of grasshoppers.
- I switched to the local train today for one stop simply to ensure that I wouldn't have to walk past my ex's place of work in case he was working.
- I turn on my eagle eyes whenever I walk around places where I might run into him in order to avoid him, and I'm utterly embarrassed by it.
- I'm in the midst of a text message conversation with said ex, hence so much of these random facts being devoted to him.
- I am silently crying. I'm often a loud, sobbing crier, but I think that to some degree I just don't have it in me anymore.
- The only people that I've even been attracted these past few months have been wildly inappropriate (as in married). Perhaps being attracted to wildly inappropriate people is a way to remind myself that I could potentially still be attracted to someone that is appropriate some day, when I'm ready? Or, worst case scenario, maybe I just want to set myself up for continued suffering, an "expect the worst—you'll never be disappointed" sort of mentality.
- I adore pumpkin, but not pumpkin pie or StarSucks pumpkin spice lattes.
- Bonus useless random fact: I used to be obsessed with Kids in the Hall and it trips me out when my son watches Lilo and Stitch because one of the kids does a voice in that show. He's watching it now.
Now the hard part. Who to tag? I don't really read blogs much anymore and TMcG already tagged some of my peeps. (Did I just say that? Who are 'you' and what have you done with 'me'?) Do they really have to be Buddhist-y weblogs? Is this like a chain letter? Would anyone out there like to volunteer and I'll just put the link in upon your request?
(Bonus bonus fact: Sometimes I want to put emoticons in entries, like right there after that rather pathetic request for volunteers, but I resist because I think that emoticons in weblogs are kind of tacky—as if they're hip and cool in other contexts. That noted, I use them all the time in email and texts. Oh, and while we're throwing out useful personal trivia let me just add that I like the traditional ones made up from punctuation much more than I enjoy the graphical ones, although the green 'barfy' Yahoo! smiley cracks me up every time.)

Yay!
Thanks for this. I must admit I felt wonky too when I had been 'tagged'.
Love your blog. Your honesty on the path resonates with me strongly.
