All I want for my birthday are five thousand different things, including things for my apartment, warm socks, and to see my friends. However, if you were to ask me what I really want for my birthday, then I would say that I would like donations to my various causes: summer camp for Norbu, family camp for Norbu and I, to see my friends, and so on. But if then you asked is that what you really, truly want for your birthday, I'd say no. What I really truly want for my birthday is donations toward riding lessons at Claremont. (And, as always, to see my friends).
My therapist brought up riding to me yesterday without my ever even mentioning that I ride. "You know why riding works? Because when you ride you have no choice but to open up your heart."
If ten people out there would be willing to donate seven dollars a piece, that would be one lesson including the tip for my instructor.
I can't believe I'm actually asking for something, but I really miss it.
