lists and traces
- Nyima and Jigme and I keep up with one another via emails that we primarily send while at work. I started sending most of my emails in list format and they joined me. This entry requires the same.
- You know that you've been watching too many forensic programs on the telly when you are packing up a book to send to an eBay customer and you're thinking to yourself, "Damn, I'm leaving trace evidence all over this."
- I'm selling books on eBay because I'm broke, as if that four dollars I'm making a week is really worth the hours of time and trouble.
- The best bookstore on the upper west side is going out of business. Norbu and I stopped off there this morning and I bought him a few books and a creepy Blackbeard action figure for belated Hanukkah, Solstice, and Christmas gifts. We hadn't actually given him any gifts yet.
- Sadly, it's actually two bookstores that are closing: Ivy's Books and Curiosities & Murder Ink.
- If I had been richer I would have bought a bunch of their Edward Gorey stuff. It's so cute.
- Most disturbing link that Heather sent me this week: The World Counter. I was especially struck by the number of pesticide-related deaths. Will the number increase within the three more days left of 2006?
- Most beautiful photo album I've browsed all week: ljubljana decembrska noc
- And last but not least, the photo that I've chosen to steal from above-mentioned photo album in case you don't feel like looking at a stranger's photos on the Internet today because you really, really, really must see it. As a favor to me, let the red neon melt your heart.
