Similar to the situation with my desk, I seem to have eliminated just about all the open space in my life. I have been really and truly busy since the yoga immersion and then a maitri program over the weekend. Work has been busy, too, and in the midst of all this I have remained a mother and continued to engage in a social life.
(Busy girl needs to go on dathün so she can at long last become familiar with boredom. She had a taste of it while practing buddha over the weekend, and came out of it so irritated that it took her several hours to feel herself again. That was probably a good thing, although perhaps not so good for the person that was with her. He said that he couldn't tell, so perhaps she was just projecting.)
A few people have been asking me what I would like for my birthday. If you are one of those people, here's what I really and truly want: Donations to the "send-norbu-and-the-girl-to-the-Sakyong's-wedding" fund. Well, that and an iPod.
(The girl contemplates the pervasiveness of materialism and her relationship to it. Afterward, she still wants an iPod. Or the Toshiba version.)
